The Federal Drug Administration or the FDA has recieved several reports from consumers on adverse side-effects after taking the Fruta Planta product, which include cardiac arrest and even a reported death.

The Fruta Planta product has been found to contain sibutramine , a controlled substance that was withdrawn from the market in October 2010 for safety reasons.
