Over this last Thanksgiving holiday the California Highway Patrol reported 30 deaths on California highways as a result of deadly car accidents. This number was higher than the 2008 Thanksgiving Holiday in which 24 people were killed due to car accidents.

The California Highway Patrol also reported that there were 1,300 DUI related arrests over the Thanksgiving Holiday. 240 of those arrests were in Los Angeles County.
